چکیده
We present methods for using the model of Foss, Lande, Stahl and Steinberg to estimate interference and map distances from two-factor tetrad data. We illustrate the application of the methods with data from Neurospora and from Saccharomyces.

A mathematical model of interference for use in constructing linkage maps from tetrad data.
In determining genetic map distances it is necessary to infer crossover frequencies from the ratios of recombinant and parental progeny. To do this accurately, in intervals where multiple crossovers may occur, a mathematical model of chiasma interference must be assumed when mapping in organisms displaying such interference. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae the model most frequently used is that of ...
متن کاملThe Detection of Linkage in Tetrad Analysis.
STABLISHING the existence of linkage between genes at two loci is a E distinct problem from estimating map-distance once genes are known to be linked. This paper considers two questions that concern linkage detection in organisms with genetically analyzable tetrads. First, what criterion is best for establishing linkage when tetrad segregations are analyzedl? And second, what are the advantages...
متن کاملStatistical analysis of ordered tetrads.
Ordered tetrad data yield information on chromatid interference, chiasma interference, and centromere locations. In this article, we show that the assumption of no chromatid interference imposes certain constraints on multilocus ordered tetrad probabilities. Assuming no chromatid interference, these constraints can be used to order markers under general chiasma processes. We also derive multilo...

An empirical equation has been developed that can be used to calculate genetic map distances from tetrad data with good accuracy for distances of up to at least 120 centimorgans.
متن کاملCentromere Localization for Bighead Carp (Aristichthys nobilis) through Half-Tetrad Analysis in Diploid Gynogenetic Families
Gene-centromere (G-C) mapping provides insights into structural and behavioural properties of chromosomes. In this study, G-C mapping using microsatellite markers and meiogynogenetic (meiotic gynogenetic) families were performed in bighead carp (Aristichthys nobilis, 2N = 48), which belongs to Cyprinidae. A total of 218 microsatellites were selected across 24 linkage groups (LGs) of a recently ...
